Nubia will launch the Magnetic Phone Cooler Neo in China on September 10, pairing a 25W thermoelectric cooling system with magnetic mounting and an ice-cream-inspired design. Also marketed as the Ice Cream Cooler, the accessory will carry an introductory price of 99 yuan, rising to a standard 159 yuan.
The cooler uses a 36 x 36 mm TEC plate, an aluminum heatsink and a metal contact surface designed to spread heat from the phone. Nubia says the cooling element can reach -18°C under certain conditions, a figure that applies to the cooler itself rather than indicating that a connected smartphone will reach sub-zero temperatures.

A seven-blade fan runs at up to 6,000 rpm and directs exhaust upward and downward to keep airflow away from a user’s hands in landscape play. Nubia rates its quietest mode at 33 dB. Physical controls provide Silent, Powerful, Overclocking and Temperature Control modes, without requiring an app, while RGB lighting is also built in.
The 90 g accessory is 25 mm thick and can attach magnetically or through included clips for phones without integrated magnets. It also has a standard 1/4-inch thread for mounting on a tripod or streaming rig.

Its cooling architecture is related to Nubia’s REDMAGIC Cooler 8 Pro, though the Neo’s 25W rating sits below the 36W output of that model. Nubia has not announced availability outside China, leaving its wider release plans unconfirmed.
