Lenovo is promising seven major Android version upgrades for its new Yoga Tab Gen 2 and Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 tablets, an unusually long support commitment in the Android tablet market. Both devices will ship with Android 17, are expected to reach Android 24, and are slated to receive security updates through 2033.
The tablets were introduced at IFA 2026 and target different ends of Lenovo’s premium lineup. The 11.1-inch Yoga Tab Gen 2 uses a 4K PureSight Pro display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, and an 11,000mAh battery supporting 68W charging. Lenovo lists its weight at about 480g.
The larger Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 moves to a 13-inch 4K, 144Hz display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. It carries a 12,700mAh battery with the same 68W charging capability and weighs roughly 605g. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB through a microSD card.
Both models support Lenovo’s stylus features, including 8,192 pressure levels, tilt detection, and gestures such as Click to Draw, Squeeze to Select, and Flip to Erase. The Tab Pen Pro 2 and detachable keyboards are sold separately. Lenovo also includes AI-based tools for note-taking, transcription, input, and cross-device work.
The policy marks a substantial change from Lenovo’s recent tablet support. The Lenovo Tab Plus, released in 2024, was promised two major Android upgrades and four years of security patches. With seven platform updates, the new Yoga tablets move closer to the long-term support policies offered by Google and Samsung on selected devices.
Lenovo expects European availability from September 2026. The Yoga Tab Gen 2 is set to start at €649, while the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 will start at €849, including VAT. Regional configurations and availability beyond Europe have not been detailed.
