Oukitel demonstrated the working electric lighter built into its WP63 rugged phone at IFA 2026. Hidden beneath a sliding mechanism at the top of the handset, the feature uses a heated electrical element rather than gas, in a setup comparable to an older car lighter. At Oukitel’s booth, the element quickly produced smoke from an incense stick.
The WP63 is built around a 20,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support. It can also supply up to 18W to another device through an integrated USB-C cable positioned along the side of the phone, allowing the handset to double as a power bank.
Other hardware aimed at outdoor use includes a bright rear camping light and a large speaker. Together with the built-in lighter and high-capacity battery, the feature set positions the WP63 as a multi-purpose rugged device for time away from mains power rather than a conventional smartphone.
Oukitel had previously shown the WP63 at MWC 2026, although the lighter could not be demonstrated on the earlier unit. The IFA showing confirmed that the sliding ignition mechanism is functional. Oukitel has not disclosed pricing, release timing or market availability for the WP63 in the material available.
