Razer has launched the Basilisk V4 Pro, a right-handed gaming mouse built around 14 programmable controls, a 50,000 DPI optical sensor and up to 8,000Hz polling in both wired and HyperSpeed wireless modes. The mouse is priced at €179.99 and is available through Razer.com, RazerStores and select retailers.
The new Basilisk retains the line’s large thumb rest, while moving its multifunction button and adding a third side button plus another button beside the left click. Razer says the V4 Pro is 12 grams lighter than the previous generation despite the extra hardware. It also includes seven Chroma RGB lighting zones around its base and can connect to multiple devices.
Sensor and scrolling hardware
At the center is Razer’s Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3. Its 8,000Hz mode is aimed at high-performance PCs and fast displays, but the company’s endurance rating is measured at the lower 1,000Hz HyperSpeed polling setting. Battery life will be reduced when the mouse operates at maximum polling.
- Maximum resolution: 50,000 DPI
- Tracking speed: up to 930 IPS
- Acceleration: up to 90G
- Polling rate: up to 8,000Hz over wired or HyperSpeed wireless
- Independent lift-off and landing-distance adjustment
- Gen-4 optical switches rated for 100 million clicks

Razer rates the Basilisk V4 Pro for up to 200 hours through HyperSpeed wireless at 1,000Hz, or up to 275 hours over Bluetooth 6.2. Its HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 supports 24-step tactile scrolling, a finer 48-step tactile setting and unrestricted Free-Spin scrolling. Smart-Reel can automatically switch between tactile and free-spin modes, while Virtual Acceleration increases scrolling speed according to wheel movement.
The software feature set includes Hypershift, macros and profiles that can switch automatically when a selected game launches. Razer also includes Perfect 180, a function intended to give low-sensitivity FPS players a rapid 180-degree turn.
Basilisk V4 Pro and its accessories
| Model | Sensor | Maximum DPI | Programmable controls | Battery life | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basilisk V4 Pro | Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 | 50,000 | 14 | Up to 200 hours HyperSpeed / 275 hours Bluetooth | €179.99 |
| Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed | Focus X 33K Gen-3 | 33,000 | 12 | Up to 140 hours | €119.99 |
The Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed is the lower-cost alternative for users who want the same general shape without the Pro model’s 50K sensor, expanded RGB lighting and 8,000Hz polling support. It weighs 94g, while the V4 Pro’s stated weight comparison is limited to its 12g reduction against the prior model.
Razer has also introduced the Mouse Dock V2 Pro for €69.99. The magnetic dock wirelessly charges the Basilisk V4 Pro and integrates an 8,000Hz HyperSpeed transceiver, allowing it to take over the mouse’s wireless connection. Its HyperSpeed Multi-Device Support can also connect compatible Razer mice or keyboards through the same dock, while its eight Chroma RGB zones can indicate charging status.
For a mousepad-based charging option, Razer lists the HyperFlux V2 at €139.99. Adding the Mouse Dock V2 Pro brings the Basilisk V4 Pro package to €249.98, placing the mouse in a premium segment where its extra controls, high-polling wireless hardware and charging ecosystem are central to its appeal.
