RedMagic has outlined a China rollout schedule for RedMagic OS 12, the company’s Android 17-based software release. The update will arrive on previously released RedMagic phones and tablets in stages between December 2026 and April 2027, after debuting on the RedMagic 12 Pro+ last week.

RedMagic OS 12 introduces a redesigned interface with a large clock treatment and several AI features, including AI Magic Island and an AI assistant with a memory function. The software also adds one-tap file transfers to Apple devices.
Gaming remains a major focus. Game Space gains an adaptive design that changes according to the game being played, while a new esports training area includes mini-games intended to practice precision and reaction time. X-Gravity 3.0 also expands support for cloud gaming, console streaming and running mobile games on larger displays.
The announced timeline applies only to China. RedMagic has not yet confirmed when RedMagic OS 12 will reach devices sold in global markets.
