Samsung and LG are searching for a new direction as far as the Android user experience is concerned, so they started hiring design experts to deal with their new UI-based projects. Samsung took in Jung Ji-hong, a former professor of visual communication design for Kookmin University in Seoul. His work will involve customizing the TouchWiz UI on Android and Bada phones.

LG works with former dean of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology industrial design department, Lee Kun-pyo. He’ll be the VP of LG’s Design Management Center, handling much the same work as the above-mentioned Samsung-employed expert. S-Class will be the customized interface, in this case and we’ll probably see LG and Samsung experimenting soon.

What about MOTOBLUR and HTC Sense? Think they need a revamp, too?
