Samsung has confirmed that its Galaxy Buds On open-ear earbuds will arrive in Europe in early 2027, placing the region after South Korea, where sales began on October 27, and the United States, where availability is scheduled for early November.
The company has not provided a specific European launch date, explained the staggered regional rollout, or announced European pricing. Earlier retailer listings had pointed to a December release, but Samsung’s latest timetable rules that out.
Galaxy Buds On are Samsung’s first clip-on open-ear earbuds. Their earring-like fit leaves the ear canal unobstructed, allowing listeners to remain aware of surrounding sound rather than providing the isolation associated with in-ear earbuds and active noise cancellation.
US pricing is set at $229, with black listed as the initial color option. Samsung has not confirmed pricing or color availability for European markets.
Open-ear hardware and Galaxy software features
Samsung is entering an established clip-on category that already includes Huawei’s FreeClip line, as well as products from HONOR and Ugreen. The Galaxy Buds On use 11.3mm TwinBoost drivers, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound platform and Audio Leakage Reduction technology intended to reduce sound heard by nearby people. Intelligent Clear Call processing is designed to suppress background noise during calls.

| Specification | Samsung Galaxy Buds On | Huawei FreeClip 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery life per charge | 9.5 hours | 9 hours |
| Total battery life with case | 38 hours | 38 hours |
| Weight per earbud | 6.65g | 5.1g |
| Dust and water resistance | IP54 | IP57 |
| Design and ear detection | Open-ear; automatic left/right ear recognition | Open-ear; automatic left/right ear recognition |
The Galaxy Buds On are notably heavier than Huawei’s model at roughly 30% more weight per earbud, while the FreeClip 2 carries the higher IP57 protection rating.
Samsung is also emphasizing Galaxy ecosystem features, including Gemini Live voice access, Quick Voice Memo for recording ideas, Bixby search for saved recordings and head-gesture controls for calls and notifications.
Those functions are not universally available across Android devices. Quick Voice Memo requires a compatible Galaxy AI device plus Samsung Voice Recorder and Bixby; head gestures require One UI 8.5 or later. Gesture-based notification reading and alarm dismissal require One UI 9.0 or newer.
The early-2027 European window gives established open-ear competitors more time in the market. Samsung’s next confirmed details will need to include the exact regional launch schedule and local pricing for the Galaxy Buds On.
