A mystery Samsung smartphone was leaked recently and it seemed to be the Stratosphere III for Verizon, which would mean it’s a slider phone with a QWERTY keyboard. Now the device has leaked again, this time in some pics published by Engadget and the keyboard is gone.

First, the smartphone appeared in the GLBenchmark database days ago with the model number SCH-I425 and now we have some photos of it. The codename and number fits with previous Stratosphere models, which lead us to believe it’s the Stratosphere III. The device resembles the Galaxy S III Mini more than anything and it comes with the old setup that involves 4 capacitive buttons instead of the Samsung physical key and two more capacitive buttons.

Benchmarks revealed that the SCH-I425 packs a 720p screen, a 1.4 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and 4G LTE. It runs Android 4.1.2 and the screen size remains a mystery. Speculations talk about a 4 inch diagonal, or a bit over that. This model is also dubbed Godiva as a codename, so the Stratosphere part may change.
