Sony is expanding its ULT Tower party-speaker range with three models due in September: the ULT Tower 5, ULT Tower 7 and ULT Tower Max. US pricing starts at $450 for the Tower 5, rises to $650 for the Tower 7, and reaches $1,500 for the Max, giving the line both a lower-cost entry point and its most expensive model so far.
The ULT Tower 5 is rated at 300W and offers up to 20 hours of battery life, according to a European retail listing. It supports IPX4 water resistance and four sound profiles: Deep Bass, Attack Bass, Flat and Live. Sony also claims that 10 minutes of charging can provide up to 100 minutes of playback.
Stepping up to the ULT Tower 7 brings a 420W rating, up to 30 hours of battery life, 360-degree sound and transport wheels. Its fast-charging claim is up to three hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.
The ULT Tower Max is the range’s most powerful addition, with a 2,150W rating, three woofers—including one facing rearward—four tweeters and 360-degree sound. All three new speakers support Bluetooth and offer XLR, USB-C and RCA connections. They can also be linked through Party Chain with Auracast or configured as a stereo pair.
French retailer Darty has already listed the ULT Tower 5 at €399.99, the ULT Tower 7 at €599.99 and the ULT Tower Max at €1,499.99. Those are France-specific prices, and Sony’s wider regional availability plans beyond the September launch window have yet to be detailed.
