And here we are with yet another UMi phone to unbox, the UMi Plus E, that’s taken out of the box below. It’s one of the most affordable 6 GB RAM phone in the world, priced at just $229 on The handset is a 5.5 inch phablet with a metal body and a pretty nifty looking boxy.

It has a semi transparent lid and I think many device makers could take a hint from the box. Inside it there’s a metal key, USB Type C cable, charger and manual. Launched in November 2016, the smartphone is pretty massive and it’s made of 6000 Series aluminum. There’s a 2.5D glass panel upfront and the body has received a 3D polish. The handset measures 8.2 mm in thickness, weighs 185 grams and has a powerful octa core MediaTek Helio P20, accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

There’s a microSD card slot here, a 5.5 inch Full HD screen with a Sharp panel and a 13 megapixel back camera. Upfront we’ve got a 5 MP selfie cam and the battery is pretty generous, at 4000 mAh. UMi Plus E is obviously a dual SIM smartphone, with an USB Type C port and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the promise to get Android 7.0 Nougat soon.

There’s a fingerprint scanner embedded within the Home button and we are also promised one day of use after 30 minutes of charging. We’ve already tested its camera and we’ll be back soon with a full review. The updated prices are here:
