VKWorld is another Chinese producer, one that was pretty unknown for us, until a few days ago, moment when we found out about its amazing smartphone called Discovery S1. This product we’re talking about, comes with a 3D display that doesn’t require a dedicated pair of glasses in order to watch the 3D content on the display.

Even if its specs were pretty good, it seems that VKWorld wants to bring a more-powerful successor on the market in the following months. Called Discovery S2, the new device offers a similar 5.5-inch IPS 3D display (with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass), but it also packs a fingerprint scanner on the back, one with multiple features like:

  • use swipe gestures on the scanner to navigate through pictures
  • use the fingerprint as a dedicated button for taking pictures
  • control the music player

From the design point of view, we get to know that Discovery S2 will arrive in a 7.2 mm thin uni-body case, one made out of metal this time. According to the producer, this new smartphone will cost around $299, once announced in China.
