The latest entry in the range of waterproof phones that Verizon offers is the Kyocera Hydro handset. This smartphone was first leaked a few weeks ago and now it’s official and pictured below.

Just like previous Kyocera releases, this model is waterproof and can be submerged in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and packs a 4.3 inch HD display, LTE connectivity and Smart Sonic Receiver tech. The latter makes the handset easier to hear even in a noisy area. You also get touch and send NFC sharing and a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU inside.

There’s an 8 MP cam at the back, a 1.3 MP cam at the front and a 2100 mAh battery inside, as well as wireless charging offered here. Verizon will start selling the phone on August 29th, the same day they release the Moto X, by the way. In case you’re not convinced, Verizon has Bear Grylls promoting the handset in the video below:
