Xiaomi has put the 18 Fold on display at IFA 2026 ahead of its September 7 launch in China, outlining a large foldable built around a 6,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera and the company’s XRING O3 processor. The handset was exhibited behind glass, so details such as hinge feel, thickness and in-hand ergonomics could not be assessed.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold uses a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch internal folding panel. Both are rated for peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits. The device has a relatively wide, short form factor compared with conventional book-style foldables, while the inner camera is placed in a corner punch-hole. A reddish finish was shown at the Berlin event.
Its hardware platform is led by the 3nm, 10-core Xiaomi XRING O3, an in-house chip previously reported to have exceeded 5.2 million points in AnTuTu. Xiaomi 18 Fold is also described as the first announced phone with LPDDR6 memory; Xiaomi’s implementation is rated for speeds of up to 10,667 Mbps.
The rear Leica-branded camera array comprises a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. Xiaomi has published early camera samples, including portrait images, although these remain manufacturer-selected material rather than independent testing.
Charging is specified at 67W wired and 50W wireless. Pricing has not been officially confirmed: pre-launch estimates have placed the phone in the CNY 10,000 to CNY 12,000 range, while an approximate US$1,650 figure remains unconfirmed. Xiaomi has not announced international availability, including any European release, leaving its China launch as the next confirmed milestone.
