Xiaomi may be exploring a glasses-free 3D display for the standard Xiaomi 18, according to a single rumor posted on Weibo. The claim has not been confirmed by Xiaomi, and there are no known schematics or patent material backing it so far.
The reported panel would use so-called naked-eye 3D technology, which sends slightly different images to each eye to create an impression of depth without requiring dedicated glasses. Similar displays have appeared in other product categories, but smartphone implementations have historically faced narrow viewing angles and the risk of eye strain during extended use.
Display makers in China are still investing in the category, with newer approaches aiming to address those limitations through eye tracking and real-time image processing. Even so, the current report offers no technical details on Xiaomi's possible implementation, making a trade-show prototype a more plausible near-term outcome than a retail phone feature.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have already been announced and are expected to reach global markets soon, while the standard Xiaomi 18 has also been confirmed. Its launch is reportedly expected toward the end of the year or in early 2027; whether it will carry any form of 3D display remains unresolved.
