The popular Xiaomi Hongmi handset has been rebranded for an international launch, now being called Redmi. Priced at $132 this appealing handset has been selling very well in China and it’s coming to the international market soon.

We don’t have an exact launch date or the name of the countries where it will debut, but Singapore seems a sure bet, according to sources. For those of you wondering, for just a bit under $150 you’re getting a 4.7 inch smartphone with 720p resolution and dual SIM capacity. The handset uses an IPS LCD screen, a microSD card slot, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage.

There’s HSDPA on board, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and Full HD video capture. We’ve got a 1.3 MP front shooter, Android 4.2 as the OS and a quad core MediaTek CPU under the hood. Finally, there’s FM radio and a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery on board.
