Last I heard, the Xiaomi Mi 4c was the Chinese version of the Indian Xiaomi Mi 4i, that we actually reviewed recently. Well, the Mi 4c just got certified by TENAA and benchmarked, so we’ve got quite a bit of info to cover about it.

The Mi 4i came with a Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 615 chipset and a somewhat laggy experience, because of the software. The TENAA shots reveal the same body and measurements for the Mi 4c as the Mi 4i and the same polycarbonate case is here, complete with the many speaker holes at the back. The Android version has been bumped up to 5.1.1 Lollipop, which may mean we’re getting MIUI 7 here.

The announcement of the Mi 4c is expected to come within one or two weeks and a leaked benchmark has revealed the presence of a Snapdragon 808 CPU inside, certainly a bump up from the S615. Aside from the CPU change, the same 13 MP back camera, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage will be inside. It will be interesting to see how the new CPU affects the battery life…
