Xiaomi has something interesting prepared for release in India and that’s happening on April 23rd. They’ve started teasing a local announcement, without ample details for now. All we know is that the event is the global premiere of the smartphone.

This is good news for people in India, who will be the first in the world to experience a new Xiaomi phone. Usually Xiaomi unveils new phones in China, its homeland, but it appears the Indian market has become important enough to get its own release. Rumors say that the newcomer could be the leaked Xiaomi Ferrari, that was recently spotted in benchmarks.

This one is a 4.9 inch Full HD device with a Snapdragon 615 octa core processor, Android 5.0 and 2 GB of RAM. It has 16 GB of storage, a 13 MP main camera and a front 5 MP shooter. The device fits somewhere between Redmi Note 4G and the Mi 4 phones. Pricing is expected to be at around $224.
