Oppo has started its Color OS 2.1 beta program today, in order to test out the features of the new platform version and benefit from feedback. For now, the only model that runs this OS is Oppo Find 7.

There’s a new UI in the mix and a simple design, with more minimalistic icons. Usually, when we see a Chinese phone with a Chinese UI, there’s a lot of color, fancy icons and gloss. This time, the highlights of the icons are minimal and the contours are discrete. Color OS 2.1 is clean and minimal, it has new icons and more structure.

A lot of white has been used here, especially for backgrounds. Fonts have been changed and the status bar of the platform seems to stay black no matter what app is used. Color OS 2.1 is part of a closed beta and we could see it preinstalled on top of Lollipop on the upcoming Oppo Find 9.
