We’ve tested phones from all over Europe, from Asia and from the US, but it’s time to check out our very first handset from Malaysia in the video below. The device is called Leagoo Lead 1 and it’s a 5.5 inch phablet that comes inside a green box.
Priced at $135, the device was launched in September 2014 and can be found on eBay. Inside the box there’s the 2200 mAh battery, a pretty small capacity for a 5.5 incher, as well as the charger, USB cable that looks like the one of the OnePlus One, manuals and headphones with a pretty nice look. The phablet comes with a 5 mm thick metal frame and overall it measures 6.9 mm in thickness.
Leagoo Lead 1 weighs 160 grams and comes in black, white, red or blue. It features a MediaTek quad core 1.3 GHz processor and an IPS LCD panel with a 720p resolution. On board we find 8 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM and a microSD card slot. At the back there’s a 13 MP camera, while at the front there’s a 5 MP selfie cam. This one is a dual SIM dual standby unit, with Android 4.4 KitKat as the OS and a custom UI that’s pretty colorful.
The phone has a comfy design and looks promising, but we’ll be back in a few days with more details.
