Xiaomi has launched the Watch S5 Transparent Edition in China, a 5,000-unit limited version of its smartwatch built around a nearly all-transparent glass body. The model is priced at 2,499 yuan, or roughly $372, and was introduced alongside the standard 41mm Xiaomi Watch S5.
Its defining feature is a 47mm octagonal case made from Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. The transparent material exposes structural elements within the watch, while a brushed stainless-steel frame is integrated into the glass structure to add rigidity and contrast.
Xiaomi says every case is machined from a single piece of glass through a process designed to balance the unusual look with daily-wear durability.

The company rates the material at 810 HV0.05 on the Vickers hardness scale and says it should resist everyday wear without yellowing over time, unlike transparent plastics. High hardness does not by itself establish resistance to breakage from a severe impact, however.
A custom digital watch face with red accents and graphics inspired by traditional mechanical watches completes the design. Its visual language also echoes the Xiaomi 18 Pro Transparent Special Edition, pointing to a shared design identity for Xiaomi’s special-edition devices.
Xiaomi has confirmed the China launch and limited production quantity, but has not provided availability details for markets outside China.
