TCL had a busy day today, announcing two solid midrangers, the TCL Play 2 and the Play 2C. These models pack 5 inch HD screens and fingerprint scanners, plus they offer support for 4G LTE connectivity.

These are both budget 4G handsets, introduced in China and they also come with infrared sensors, allowing the user to control appliances. Play 2 relies on an octa core Snapdragon 617 processor, plus it comes with a 13 megapixel back camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front shooter. The Play 2C opts for a Snapdragon 410 quad core chipset, a main 8 MP camera and a selfie cam with the same resolution.

Both models have titanium alloy frames and run Android 5.1 Lollipop. TCL Play 2 brings 16 GB of storage, dual SIM slots and a 2500 mAh battery, all of that in a 8.5 mm thick, 145 gram heavy body. TCL Play 2C has a 2000 mAh battery, measures 8.58 mm in thickness and weighs 145 grams. TCL Play 2 comes in champagne gold, cherry pink and white and it’s priced at $140, while the Play 3C is available in white and champagne gold, being priced at $109.
