Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max as the first smartphone announced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 processor. The flagship also brings a 200MP periscope camera, an 8,500mAh battery and a 2.9-inch rear AMOLED display that incorporates two of its rear cameras.
The main display is a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with adaptive LTPO refresh technology spanning 1Hz to 120Hz. Xiaomi says it has symmetrical 0.99mm bezels and a hardware-level Privacy Display feature intended to limit visibility from side angles. Around the back, the 2.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel runs at 120Hz and has a resolution of 976 x 596 pixels.
The rear camera array combines a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch Light Hunter 960L sensor, optical image stabilization and an f/1.67 aperture; a 50MP ultra-wide camera; and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The periscope uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor, OIS and 3.2x optical zoom. A 50MP front camera supports 4K video at up to 60fps.

The phone continues Xiaomi’s recent rear-display design language and will be offered in black, white, pink and blue. The blue model has a glossy metal frame and a star-pattern finish. Xiaomi is also preparing a red special edition with transparent elements that reveal the wireless charging coil and part of the structure around the USB-C port.
Pricing, release timing and regional availability for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have not been specified.
