Huawei may be preparing a new consumer-electronics sub-brand called Xingmang (星芒), with a first smartphone reportedly planned for October. The project remains unconfirmed: Huawei has not announced the brand, its product lineup or its markets.
The new H brand has multiple phones and electronics products already planned. The first is expected to launch this month.

The claim was initially flagged by leaker Dingjiao Digital, whose reference to a new brand from a company identified only as “H” has been interpreted as Huawei. Xingmang can refer to starlight or the rays of a star, though there is no confirmed English brand name or evidence that Huawei intends to market it outside China.
Rumored specifications suggest the new line could be positioned below Huawei’s most expensive models while remaining inside its software and hardware ecosystem. The reported plans include:
- Kirin 8-series processors
- Native HarmonyOS software
- Huawei XMAGE imaging technology
- The removal of higher-cost features, such as satellite communications, to lower prices
Those details have not been verified, and it is not yet clear whether Xingmang would be a phone-only label or extend to broader electronics categories. A multi-category approach would distinguish it from Huawei’s existing nova and Enjoy product families, but the company has not outlined any such strategy.
Any new Huawei-linked brand would inevitably be compared with HONOR, which Huawei sold in full in November 2020 amid U.S. restrictions. Huawei said at the time that it would retain no shares or management role in the independent company. HONOR later resumed global Android phones with Google Mobile Services, including the Snapdragon 778G-powered HONOR 50.
A Xingmang brand would not automatically have access to Google services simply because it used a separate name; HONOR’s return to Google Mobile Services followed its separation from Huawei. A reported October debut may clarify whether Xingmang is a domestic Huawei expansion or a brand with broader ambitions.
