Acer has an optimistic outlook for 2009, estimating that its notebook shipments will go up by 15 to 20 percent. The company also hopes to make its entrance on the smartphome market in the first quarter of next year, although it did not mention a clear launch date or countries where the device will be shipped to.

Let us remind you that recently Acer bought E-Ten, so this should somehow matter for the outcome of the future smartphone. No specs are known right now, but what we do know is that the device will be a Windows Mobile handset, probably with hot GPS features, since E-Ten is on board.
