KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record with Apple-related rumors now has some fresh inside info. Said info involves the new and cheap iPhone, that Apple is rumored to launch this year. Kuo managed to predict successfully everything about the white iPhone 4 and iPad 2, plus the iPhone 4S release timeline.

It seems that the low cost iPhone will have a 4 inch screen like the iPhone 5 and the handset will come with a super thin plastic case that also mixes in some glass fiber. This hybrid material will increase the case’s overall durability, while also decreasing weight and creating a thinner design. This new report from Kuo counters information from Digitimes, talking about a 5 inch display on the next iPhone.

Apple has managed to stay away from the budget market for now, although the iPad Mini was kind of perceived as a lower cost table. There are huge markets to conquer with a cheap iPhone, places like India or Mexico, to name just two. I’m not sure that Apple is ready to take this dip, but they might, just as Samsung expand their domination…
