ASUS is expanding the Zenbook 14 family with the UX3480, a 1.1 kg ultraportable that adopts the company’s Ceraluminum material on its lid. Introduced at IFA 2026, the notebook will be offered across Intel, AMD and Qualcomm Snapdragon X platforms rather than being tied to a single processor ecosystem.
Ceraluminum is ASUS’s proprietary ceramic-like material, designed to retain a low weight while improving resistance to wear and scratches. ASUS says its internal testing puts the surface through more than 18,000 rubbing cycles. The company has previously used the material on the sub-1 kg Zenbook A14 and on the Zenbook Duo UX8407.
The UX3480 retains a 14-inch 16:10 OLED display with an 89% screen-to-body ratio. Depending on the version, the panel can reach 3K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. ASUS also includes a large touchpad and a practical port selection comprising USB-C, USB-A, full-size HDMI and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Intel configurations reach up to a Core Ultra 9 Series 3 processor with a 50 TOPS NPU, while the AMD option goes up to a Ryzen AI 7 345, also rated at 50 TOPS. Snapdragon X versions offer 45 TOPS. Intel and AMD models can include up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory and batteries of up to 70 Wh; Snapdragon models use a 50 Wh battery.
ASUS cites battery-life claims of more than 29 hours for Intel versions, more than 30 hours for Snapdragon configurations and up to 33 hours on certain AMD models. Those figures vary by configuration and test methodology, so they should not be treated as a single endurance rating for the whole range.
The Zenbook 14 UX3480 is shown in Komodo Coral, Arctic Blue and Zabriskie Beige. ASUS has not provided pricing or market-by-market availability details in the information available so far, leaving the final configuration mix for each region to be confirmed.
