There are quite a few people out there who are using laptops that have 4 GB Of RAM or less, so when they hear the ASUS ZenFone 2 has 4 GB of RAM they’re probably baffled. Well, the phone debuted in USA this week and it reached us for a detailed unboxing below.
Priced at $300 in the 4 GB RAM version, off contract or $200 for the 2 GB RAM model, this device certainly is a novelty from ASUS. Showcased at CES 2015, earlier this year, the product has actually about 5 versions in total. The one we’re checking out is the red model of the ZE551ML. Inside the box we find the headphones, USB cable and charger, plus headphone plugs and manual.
The back cover is removable (very hard) and hosts the two SIM slots and a microSD, while the battery is non removable. ZenFone 2 has a rounded back, with thickness going from 3.9 mm in the thinnest part to 10.9 mm in the thickest. It weighs 170 grams and includes a 5.5 inch Full HD screen, plus a 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor, of the quad core kind.
There’s 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM here, 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, LTE and a 13 MP back camera. We’ve got a 5 MP selfie shooter, and a 3000 mAh battery under the hood. The OS of choice is Android 5.0, with Zen UI on top it. We’ll be back very soon with a detailed review!
