BMW has unveiled the iX4, an electric SUV coupe based on its Neue Klasse technology platform. The model is scheduled to launch in March 2027, with BMW claiming a maximum WLTP range of up to 828 km and DC fast-charging capability of up to 400 kW, depending on the version.
- iX4 40 xDrive: the entry-level launch model.
- iX4 50 xDrive: the long-range launch model.
- iX4 M60 xDrive: a performance-focused version set to follow, with orders opening in January 2027.

The iX4 50 xDrive uses two electric motors and a 108.7 kWh usable battery with cylindrical cells. BMW says its 800V electrical architecture can add up to 387 km of range in 10 minutes under favorable conditions, while a 10% to 80% charge is expected to take around 21 minutes. Bidirectional charging is also included, allowing the battery to supply a home when compatible equipment is used.
Inside, BMW fits a 17.9-inch central display and its Panoramic Vision system, which projects information along the base of the windshield. A 3D head-up display is optional, while the voice assistant is based on Alexa+. In Germany, the Highway Assist function can support hands-free driving at up to 130 km/h when system conditions are met and the driver remains attentive.
- Standard equipment includes the M Sport package, 20-inch wheels and a panoramic roof.
- Cargo capacity is 490 liters, expanding to 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded.
- A 58-liter front storage compartment is included.
- Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 kg with a tow hitch.
German pricing starts at €70,900 plus delivery for the iX4 40 xDrive and €75,900 plus delivery for the iX4 50 xDrive. BMW has not announced an M60 xDrive price, and availability and pricing in other markets have yet to be confirmed.
