Dacia’s Hipster electric city-car concept could be manufactured at the eGT factory in Shiyan, China, for a reported 2027 launch. The plan, reported by Autocar.co.uk, has not been confirmed by Dacia, which has yet to reveal a production-spec Hipster.
The Shiyan site previously built the first-generation Dacia Spring and reportedly became available after Spring production ended in July 2026. Using an existing small-EV production base could help Renault Group control costs for a model intended to push electric mobility into a lower price bracket.
As presented in concept form, the Hipster is a 3-meter electric vehicle with four seats. Dacia positioned it as a stripped-back urban EV designed to avoid the size and cost of conventional cars.
Autocar reports a UK price target below £10,000, though that figure remains a reported target rather than an official Dacia announcement. Final specifications, production timing, market availability and pricing have not been confirmed.
