Dacia has unveiled the second-generation Spring at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, bringing production to Europe and raising the entry price to €17,900. The electric model will be built at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia rather than in China.
The new Spring uses the RG-EV Small platform shared with the new Renault Twingo. It is around 15 cm longer and 18 cm wider than its predecessor, while luggage capacity rises to 337 liters. Dacia has also adopted a more angular exterior design with redesigned lighting and styling aligned with its newer models.
Powertrain and charging
- The electric motor produces 80 hp (60 kW) and 175 Nm of torque. Dacia quotes a 0-100 km/h time of 12.1 seconds and a 130 km/h top speed.
- Its 27.5 kWh usable LFP battery is rated for up to 250 km of WLTP range.
- Standard AC charging is rated at 6.6 kW. An optional fast-charging package adds 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC charging, with a claimed 15% to 80% DC charge taking about 28 minutes.
Inside, the Spring has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The Journey version adds a 10.1-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Dacia says it has sold more than 210,000 Spring units since 2021. The new model is positioned as a larger and more mature successor, but its higher €17,900 starting price will be a key test as Dacia moves the city EV’s production to Europe. Market-by-market availability has not been confirmed.
