Samsung’s Exynos 2700 is reportedly posting higher scores than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in early internal testing, with an alleged multi-core lead of up to 20% in Geekbench 6.5. The figures have not been independently verified and should be treated as preliminary.
The claims were shared by tipster Ice Universe, citing South Korean outlet ChosunBiz. Exynos 2700 is said to score about 20% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in Geekbench 6.5 multi-core testing and roughly 15% higher in Geekbench 7.0. The Extreme chip is reportedly used in the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
The reported gap is wider against the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which is said to power the Xiaomi 18 Pro. In that comparison, Exynos 2700 allegedly leads by 44% in Geekbench 6.5 multi-core and 36% in Geekbench 7.0. Samsung’s GPU is also claimed to be up to 20% faster in certain advanced graphics tests, though no detailed test conditions or scores have been disclosed.
Samsung is expected to use the chip in different regions across several Galaxy S27 models, according to the report:
- Galaxy S27
- Galaxy S27+
- Galaxy S27 Pro
- Galaxy S27 Ultra, which had previously been expected to use Qualcomm silicon exclusively
A possible broader move to Exynos has been linked to rumors of high Snapdragon temperatures, but Qualcomm has denied those claims. Benchmark results alone will not settle the comparison: power efficiency, sustained thermals, battery life, modem performance and image processing will need to be assessed on commercial Galaxy S27 hardware.
