The Firefox smartphones are already an original piece of gear, even without a crafty design, but today’s model is really special. The Fx0 will be on sale this month on Japanese carrier KDDI and it stands out through a semi transparent body.

This one is a 4G compatible device, made by LG and available on the carrier’s online shop and in KDDI retail stores. The Firefox OS smartphone shown here features a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2 GHz processor, a 4.7 inch HD display (IPS LCD), an 8 megapixel back camera and a front 2.1 MP CMOS sensor. There’s 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2370 mAh battery inside.

Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC are also in the mix, plus Firefox OS 2.0 as the platform of choice. The product is priced at $411, which is quite steep, but you can also pay in monthly fees associated to your contract. The device weighs 148 grams and measures 10.5 mm in thickness. Its transparent case lets you see some of its components.
