Fennec Alpha 3 for Windows Mobile has just gone official, sporting faster start-up times, better panning and support for better screen resolutions. The cab file of the software is pretty huge, 9.5MB, but you’ll also have to know what the browser brings, so be sure to check out the info below.

The novelty in Alpha 3 is made out by better panning and scrolling, a revised theme, tons of bug fixes, better UI polish, the ability to scroll frames, improved zooming support, full screen mode running and support for touch sensitive directional pad on HTC handsets. There’s also a searchable download manager included, preferences and an add-ons manager.

Controls and the URL bar will be auto-hidden in the new version of the browser, in order to maximize the content and you’ll also be able to zoom in and out in order to view what you need on a web page. As far as navigation is concerned, you get tabbed browsing with thumbnail images, a built in error console, the smart URL bar, that integrates web search and easy access to search engines.
