Samsung may expand its 2027 Galaxy S flagship family to four phones. A newly shared image of purported protective cases shows a Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, suggesting the company could introduce a Pro tier without retiring the Plus model.
The cases, shared by leaker Ice Universe, show the Galaxy S27 and S27+ with familiar vertically aligned camera cutouts. The alleged S27 Pro and S27 Ultra cases instead use a substantially wider rear camera section, a look that recalls the camera plateau used on Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models. More importantly, the apparent design split would make Samsung’s higher-end devices immediately more distinct from the standard pair.
Recent CAD-based renders have indicated that the Galaxy S27 Pro could have a roughly 6.6-inch display, placing it below the Ultra in size while omitting S Pen support. The standard Galaxy S27 is rumored to remain near 6.3 inches. That would leave the Plus as the conventional larger model, while the Pro could target users looking for a more premium camera and build package without moving to an Ultra-sized handset.
Camera hardware may remain a key divider between the Pro and Ultra despite their similar-looking rear panels. Current information suggests 5x optical zoom could stay exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Separate rumors claim the Ultra may move to three rear cameras by dropping its dedicated 3x telephoto camera; the Galaxy S26 Ultra has dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027. These are alleged accessory designs rather than finished devices, so the final model lineup, camera layout and specifications remain unconfirmed.
