Samsung could reserve an upgraded Privacy Display for its Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, according to a SamMobile report. The rumored panel technology would limit visibility from side angles while also increasing screen brightness under direct sunlight, giving the higher-end models a display feature not expected on the rest of the lineup.

  • Galaxy S27 Pro: rumored to receive the upgraded Privacy Display.
  • Galaxy S27 Ultra: rumored to receive the upgraded Privacy Display.
  • Galaxy S27: expected to retain a conventional display panel.
  • Galaxy S27+: expected to retain a conventional display panel.

The split would further distinguish Samsung’s Pro and Ultra phones from the standard pair. Previous leaks have indicated a larger, rectangular camera design for the Pro and Ultra models, while the Galaxy S27 and S27+ may keep a more conventional vertical camera layout.

Other reported upgrades could put pressure on the Ultra’s price. Next-generation LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage are said to be planned for the premium models, potentially adding around $100 to the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s price. The standard S27 and S27+ could reportedly return to base configurations with 8GB of RAM, despite the growing hardware demands of Galaxy AI features.

Leaks have also pointed to display sizes ranging from 6.27 inches for the base Galaxy S27 to 6.89 inches for the Ultra, along with 5,200mAh and 5,700mAh batteries for higher-tier variants. Samsung is reportedly targeting an Unpacked event as early as January 2027, but limited supplies of LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 could push the launch to February.
