If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic, frustrated by the lack of directions from your GPS, Google Maps is the one to use. Google Maps Navigation (Beta) now comes with a new feature that will route you through traffic. We’re dealing with a service that gets 35 million miles driven by its Navigation users.

This means that you’ll avoid bad traffic automatically, just being routed without having to click extra options. You just start the app normally and Navigation will choose the fastest route and the one that uses up less fuel. In order to do this, Google uses complex routing algorithms and historical traffic data.

Alternate routes are available, as well as shortcuts and you should know that the new Google Maps Navigation for Android is available right now in North America and Europe, complete with real time traffic data.
