Gorenje has retained EcoVadis Platinum status for a second straight year, scoring 89 out of 100 in the corporate sustainability assessment. The result places the appliance maker in the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies evaluated worldwide, improving on its score of 87 in 2025.
The Platinum rating is EcoVadis’ highest distinction, but it is not an energy-efficiency certification for individual Gorenje refrigerators, washing machines or other appliances. Instead, the assessment measures the company’s operations across four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Gorenje cites 5.3 MW of installed solar capacity in Slovenia as part of its environmental program. It also says all of its sites are certified through environmental and social management systems, while 96% of targeted suppliers have contracts containing environmental, labor and human-rights clauses.
The distinction was displayed at Gorenje’s IFA 2026 booth alongside products including its G600 and G800 refrigerator lines and SimpliCare G800 appliances. Product-level power consumption and efficiency ratings remain separate matters, and should still be checked on each model’s energy label and specification sheet.
Gorenje says it is the only major home-appliance manufacturer to receive the EcoVadis Platinum distinction in 2026. The score reflects supply-chain and corporate practices rather than the performance of any single device, highlighting the wider operational criteria increasingly being used to assess appliance brands.
