HONOR has previewed a camera accessory kit for the upcoming Magic 9 Pro Max, built around two external teleconverters designed to extend the phone’s reach for distant subjects. The company showed the package in an unboxing video ahead of the handset’s scheduled September 28 launch.

- A mounting frame for attaching the lens accessories

The accessories are fitted in sequence, with the teleconverter mounted over the phone’s camera system. Once assembled, the Magic 9 Pro Max takes on the form of a compact camera setup rather than a conventional smartphone, with the grip intended to support video shooting as well as still photography.
HONOR is also promoting the Magic 9 Pro Max’s built-in imaging hardware, which includes a 200MP main camera and a 200MP telephoto camera. The external lenses are intended to offer an additional option beyond the phone’s native telephoto system.
HONOR has yet to demonstrate full image-quality or stabilization results from the 500mm attachment. Pricing, regional availability and the extent to which the accessories will be sold separately should become clearer at the September 28 announcement.
