HTC Amaze 4G and HTC Sensation 4G were on the “coming soon” list as far as ICS updates go, but now it seems that at least for the former model, the update is here. Previously it was rumored that June is the time frame when the handsets will get the latest Android, but it’s here early.

Amaze owners or at least part of them are confirming the availability of the system software 2.14.531.3701RD on the device, with Android 4.0.3. The release also includes HTC Sense 3.6 and the usual goodness of multitasking with swipe to close apps down, new icons, new widgets and new fonts. Installation is described as smooth, without bugs and problems. For those of you who don’t know exactly what this model is, know that it was launched last fall, it measures 11.8 mm in thickness and it weighs a huge 172.9 grams.

It’s got a 4.3 inch qHD display with S-LCD technology, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, HSDPA (42 Mbps), an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p capture and a dual core 1.5 GHz Scorpion CPU. One reason for the bulky allure could be the 1730 mAh battery, but that’s not such a high capacity for the bulk…
