HTC debuted today the brand new HTC One E8 handset, that’s basically a polycarbonate version of the HTC One M8, that keeps the bulk of its specs, minus the camera. The newcomer is very curved and seems to be a bit thicker, by about 0.50 mm or so.
It’s also lighter than the HTC One M8, by 15 grams. The handset comes with a Snapdragon 801 2.3 GHz CPU, 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. There’s a 5 inch Full HD display on board with LCD tech and 4G LTE connectivity. The phone integrates a 13 MP rear camera with 1.12 micron pixels and a front 5 megapixel camera. There’s a 2600 mAh battery on board, just like the one of the HTC One M8.
The OS here is Android 4.4.2 with HTC Sense 6.0 and this model also uses a nano SIM card slot. HTC One E8 also uses the Motion Launch gestures from the One M8 and integrates BoomSound speakers. It comes with a dual curve design, that make the handset fit naturally in the user’s hand. HTC integrated Touch Up software to balance skin tones while retaining the genuine look of the user. There will also be a dual SIM version of this model.
HTC One E8 is apparently destined for China so I can’t guarantee we’ll see it in Europe.
