The folks of solopalmari.com recently put the very hot HTC HD2 smartphone to the test, comparing it to Acer neoTouch and the iPhone, as far as the web browser is concerned. The video comparison is available below and it focuses on download speeds and page rendering, plus automatic display rotation performance.

The three smartphones were chosen mostly because they use different browsers, so HTC HD2 will show the features of Opera Mobile, while Internet Explorer Mobile 6 is put to the test on Acer neTouch and Safari gets checked out on the iPhone. HTC HD2’s Opera Mobile handles page loading pretty well, followed by Safari and IE Mobile 6.

However, the web browser on Acer neoTouch is the best performing smartphone, as far as the speed of screen rotation is concerned, followed by HTC HD2’s Opera and the iPhone, with its laggy rotation.
