HTC HD2 was recently launched in Taiwan officially, as it started shipping in Europe and Asia. During the event that got filmed and shown in the video below, HTC and Microsoft’s bosses announced that the WM 6.5 smartphone will land in the US in early 2010.

Peter Chou, HTC CEO and Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO attended the event and reminded everyone that HTC HD2 is the result of the cooperation between the two companies. What we always like to mention about this device is that this is the first handset that’s well-specced enough to take on Windows Mobile 7 and its future requirements.

HTC’s CEO talks a lot about the features of this smartphone and at some point it compares it to the iPhone, as you can see in the video. Among others, this is the first Windows Mobile capacitive multitouch display phone with a Snapdragon CPU on board.
