During yesterday’s AT&T event, the carrier announced a bunch of smartphones bearing the “4G” name tag, although they’re not able to function on such networks. They’re mere HSPA+ units, although we also expect some real 4G devices to be announced soon. Among the HSPA+ phones we noticed HTC Inspire 4G, that gets detailed after the break.

Some say that this is the AT&T version of the HTC Desire HD, one that features the same appealing specs: 4.3 inch display, Android 2.2 Froyo, an 8MP camera with dual LED flash and the updated HTC Sense UI. This is the first device in the US to be compatible with HTCSense.com and in case you want this unit for its 4G capabilities, know that it does NOT work on AT&T’s LTE 4G network.

This phone will debut in the first half of 2011 with an unknown price tag…
