According to a recent job posting from HTC, the Taiwanese giant is looking for new employees who are familiar with E-Ink and 3D display technologies. Could this mean that the handset maker is preparing a surprise for us? We already know Sharp has a 3D smartphone ready for 2011 and Samsung was also planning something similar, but what about HTC?

It would be great if they would up the stakes and release a handset capable of 3D video capture, although this could be a very pricey device. Considering the success of the Nintendo 3DS, smartphones could go the same way, or at least the E-Ink way, although this technology is not quite the definition of top notch image quality and resolution.

However the advantage of an E-Ink screen is its lower power consumption, making it great as a secondary screen for notifications.
