MediaTek has announced the Dimensity CX C10 Max, a 3nm ARM chip for Googlebook laptops that places on-device Gemini AI features at the center of its pitch. The company claims up to 19 hours of battery life from a reference system with a 60Wh battery, though commercial-device results will depend on their final hardware configurations.
Built by TSMC on a 3nm process, the chip uses an eight-core “All Big Core” CPU design, an 11-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, 12MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache. It supports LPDDR5X memory at up to 9,600 MT/s, up from the 8,533 MT/s limit cited for MediaTek’s earlier Kompanio Ultra 910.
- One Cortex-X925 CPU core
- Three Cortex-X4 CPU cores
- Four Cortex-A720 CPU cores
The eighth-generation NPU 890 is rated for up to 55 TOPS and is optimized for Gemini capabilities that can run locally on the laptop. MediaTek says local processing can shorten response times while reducing the need to send data to external servers.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 with theoretical speeds of up to 7.3Gbps and Bluetooth 6.0. The integrated Imagiq 1090 image signal processor supports camera sensors up to 32MP.
MediaTek positions the CX C10 Max against the first-generation Snapdragon X Elite. In its internal testing, the company says the chip delivered up to 15% higher multi-core performance at 12W and used 50% less power in single-core workloads than a Galaxy Book4 Edge. Independent testing and details on the first commercial Googlebook laptops using the chip have yet to be confirmed.
