Meitu is a company known for going overboard with their selfie cameras, as high as 16 or 21 MP even. They also have some pretty original designs, although not everyone would consider them pretty. Now they’re preparing new handsets, ready for unveiling on June 13th: Meitu M6 and Meitu V4s.
It’s clear what Meitu is going for, judging from the posters, teasers and their own statements: they want a big chunk of the feminine market. The release of the new models will go down at the Xiamen International Exhibition Center, in vivid colors and with Home buttons that seem borrowed straight from the iPhone. The Meitu M6 is said to pack a 5 inch Full HD screen, plus an octa core processor, clocked at 2 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM.
Then there’s a 21 megapixel back camera, a 2900 mAh battery and Android 6.0 as the OS. 4G LTE connectivity is expected, as well as a fingerprint scanner. The Meitu V4s doesn’t have a clear specs list just yet, but seems to also get a big front camera and prominent dual speakers upfront. Judging by its name, it may have midranger specs.
