Motorola has introduced the Edge 70 Plus at IFA 2026, bringing a 200MP main camera and a 6,500mAh battery to its Edge 70 lineup. Motorola says the sensor is the highest-resolution camera it has used in a smartphone imaging system so far, with optical image stabilization, 4K video recording and 10x Super Zoom support.
The main camera is joined by a dedicated macro camera, while the front-facing camera uses a 32MP sensor. Motorola also includes Pantone-validated color and skin-tone tuning, Adaptive Stabilisation for 4K video, and its Photo Enhancement Engine for AI-assisted image processing. The selfie camera can detect when the phone is rotated from portrait to landscape and automatically switch to a wider field of view for group shots.
At the front is a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with a quad-curved design and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The display is Pantone Validated and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Both the front and rear panels curve toward the frame, while the handset is offered in Pantone Mountain View, Gray Lilac, Milky Blue and Sage finishes, with textures inspired by silk, acetate or Motorola’s soft-luxe material.
The Edge 70 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. A vapor-chamber cooling system is intended to manage heat during demanding workloads, while the 6,500mAh battery supports 45W TurboPower wired charging and bypass charging.
Motorola also lists stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos support, alongside Google Gemini, Gemini Live and Circle to Search. The company says the phone has undergone military-standard testing for resistance to extreme temperatures, humidity, altitude and accidental drops.
Motorola has not yet announced the Edge 70 Plus price, release date or the markets where it will be sold. Those details will determine how the device is positioned against other upper-midrange phones combining large batteries with high-resolution cameras.
