MOVA’s AstraX concept pushes robotic lawn mowers beyond obstacle detection: it can physically move items out of its route. Demonstrated at IFA 2026, the mower carries a multifunction robotic arm with a two-finger gripper and interchangeable end effectors, rather than a fully articulated humanoid hand.

The company presented several potential jobs for the arm beyond mowing. Depending on the fitted tool, AstraX can remove objects from its path, collect fallen fruit, or water selected parts of a lawn. MOVA has not announced commercial availability, pricing, or a launch schedule for the concept.

A separate MOVA demonstration, called Knot 80, focuses on more dexterous object handling. The complete robotic assembly has 15 joints, including a hand with 11 degrees of freedom, 3D vision, and intelligent grip control. During the demonstration, it picked up a cup, positioned it beneath a coffee machine, and brought it back.

Knot 80 can adjust its grip force from 25N to 50N. MOVA says the system analyzes an object’s shape, position, and orientation before adapting its grasp, while visual feedback helps it correct movement. The company positions that approach as embodied AI: systems that perceive their surroundings and manipulate physical objects rather than only responding through a screen.

For now, Knot 80 remains a technology demonstration, not a consumer home product or prosthetic. Its path to market, along with the final hardware and autonomy plans for the AstraX mower, remains unconfirmed.
