Images said to show Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy SmartTag 3 have surfaced, revealing a substantially redesigned tracker that appears thicker than both Apple’s AirTag and Samsung’s current SmartTag 2. The device is shown in black and white finishes.
The most notable change is the apparent removal of the opening at the top of the tracker. SmartTag 2 has an integrated hole for attaching keys or other items, while the leaked SmartTag 3 design would seemingly require a separate case or accessory with a keyring attachment.
- A polycarbonate-looking outer shell with a matte finish
- A central section that appears to have a metallic finish and carries the Samsung logo
- A thicker, more rounded body than the existing SmartTag 2
Samsung introduced the first Galaxy SmartTag in 2021 and followed it with the SmartTag 2 in 2023. Specifications, tracking features, battery design and launch timing for the Galaxy SmartTag 3 have not yet been confirmed, leaving the redesigned attachment system as one of the main details to watch.
