The folks of German site BestBoyZ caught a Nexus S unit in action running Android 2.4 aka Ice Cream Sandwich, a name recently confirmed by Google itself. Well, this could in fact prove to be another handset, in spite of being a Nexus S lookalike…

We’re talking about the Samsung GT-i9023, that seems to match the baseband version i9023, spotted on this device. This makes even more sense when you consider that the Samsung Nexus S was the GT-i9020 model, so this could be a “half brother” like the HTC Desire was to the Nexus One.

Of course we could be dealing with a fake or glitch, as the one mentioned by Sony Ericsson to justify the apparition of Android 2.4 on the brand new Arc smartphone. The i9023 could also be a slightly modified Nexus S, so nothing to bother about just yet.
